Tangible Cred
Tangible Cred is an accreditation tracking system.
A short history
Tangible Cred came about when we onboarded a client with close to 200k users. They needed their deprecated LMS app replaced, and made the decision to move to WordPress. They had several interesting systems in place that needed replacement, and Cred was an answer to one of these. We knew going in that they needed to support different point allocations for different locations, as their audience was early childhood education across the US. Going in, we also knew that they were looking to automate reporting, deepening their ties to Departments of Education in various states.
Existing solutions were, as Titus likes to put it, "glorified bean counters". Earning events attached to users based on a single point value set on a course, datestamped. We designed a system that could achieve the following:
- Automated reporting to accrediting bodies via API
- Certificate generation
- Persistent records: non-reliant on the state of completion of content within the LMS system
- Different point allocations depending on the accrediting body
- Multiple point types
