3. Licenses

A Tangible Cloud license is the key that connects your purchased plugins to the WordPress sites where you use them. Everything in this section — viewing, activating, deactivating, restricting, upgrading — is about working with those keys.

Each page in this section covers one piece of the topic:

  1. Understanding Licenses, Grants, and Activations — the three things you need to keep straight before the rest of the section makes sense.
  2. Viewing Your Licenses — where licenses live in the app, what the columns mean, and how to filter the list.
  3. Activating a License on a Site — the Cloud-side steps for linking a license to a site. If you're activating a plugin for the first time, start with Activating a Plugin on Your Site in Getting Started — it also covers installing the plugin.
  4. Deactivating a Site — freeing up an activation slot when you no longer use a license on a particular site.
  5. Restricting License Usage (URL Restrictions) — locking a license to specific hosts, allowing development subdomains, and blacklisting domains.
  6. Upgrading a License Tier — moving a license from one tier (for example, Starter) to a higher tier (for example, Creator) on a product that offers tiers.
